Auger Problems, please help me
« on: Mar 04, 2010, 02:59 PM »
Hi everyone, i just wanted to toss my situation out there with my auger and see if someone can give me some advice.
I have an old ardis ice auger, worked amazing for the last 2 years. anyways yep i think its time for a new auger this year.
however last week i was out on the lake and i drilled about 10 holes, and than as i was getting my last hole drilled it quit drilling.
the motor runs great however once the blade touches the ice it quits turning, i lift it up and it turns very slow.
any idea what this could be?
there is no sounds or nothing coming from inside the gearbox, however a bit of grease started to leak down the shaft.
please let me know what this problem could be, i want to get back out on the ice a few more times before the season is over.
thanks everyone.

sounds like your clutch might be shot or a pin came out.

your auger does not work now so tear it apart and look. Can can't break broke.
