When I scroll down?
« on: Feb 17, 2010, 08:08 PM »
When I scroll down it moves like a robot. The only thing I can think caused it was
reformatting my computer. Does anyone know of a setting that I can change to
correct it? I am not computer smart!

It may sound funny but go in your browser options and turn off smooth scrolling.
I know this is this case if you are using firefox.

Hey Greg,

Give us some background info:
Laptop or Workstation?  Which brand? Model?
Which Operating System are you using?
Are you using the touchpad on the laptop or wireless mouse or wired mouse?
If you are using a wireless mouse...did you install the drivers for it? (software)
Have you tried using one of the other options mentioned above to see if it makes a difference?
Have you tried using a different browser?

Let us know,

If the computer seems really choppy to work on...it may be a video driver issue after reformatting too...

Do this for us:

Right-click on My Computer, then left-click on Manage.

You should see a window that is called Computer Management.  Left click on Device Manager.

You should see a window that shows something like this:

If you see any yellow exclamation marks ! that is telling you what is wrong or missing from your computer.  Let us know what you see.  Red x's are bad...so hopefully you do not see any of those.

If it looks clean, like mine, we will know that all of your computer drivers are installed correctly.  then we can proceed to dig deeper.

You are missing the video drivers, printer driver, chipset drivers, probably modem driver and an unknown driver.

You can get almost all the drivers you need here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3330044&lang=en

Download all the drivers listed in the original drivers section.

For the printer use the disk that came with it or go to canon's site.

Are sure you didn't just accidentally click the scroll wheel on your mouse this will cause auto scrolling.

You should install all of the drivers as your computer really needs them to function it's best.
Once all your ? are gone you're good to go.
