This was the south side. I was set up for pike and got some but they were only 12 to 15"ers. The 4 perch were a bonus. I was set up in no more then 4.5 fow......jim s

Hope this helps.
Another thing to think about for eating those fish- When you sell perch and pannies they don't cut them open to see if the meat has spots or worms do they?  ;)

I have eaten the ones whith the white worms. Did a bunch of reading on them and came to the point that after cooked they are harmless. And what does it have to do with selling them. Most of the sold fish go right int cat and dog food. Saw a show on it on tv at one time........jim s

Up in St. Albans you can sell perch directly to a restaurant and they don't cut them open to see for worms or spots.

If you've ever cleaned a cod or haddock you wouldn't worry about the little grubs in a perch again. Long nasty worms!

I haven't had any of the black spots (some sort of parasite) this year, but have seen them in the past.  We've eaten them too, and we're still kickin'.  It's my wife's job to make the determination on whether or not the fish is eaten.  She tells me she's never thrown out a fish due to the black spots, but has thrown out fish if they have too many of the white worms for her to remove.  She removes all the white worms she finds.  We're finding the fish much cleaner this year and that's good.
