Are there any forum rules? i'm sure there is but I didn't see a link to them. Guess they figured  we were advertising for him and since he wasn't a sponser it got pulled. That sucks.

Any thoughts on how this tourney panned out... I know they had payouts this year on biggest fish across a few species. I wonder if there will be consideration for a specific number of fish caught and weights to go with it for a few species... say on Gills and Crappie... :-\

i know that this year and last year there were generous payouts for 1st,2nd,etc. place fish in a good handfull of categories (bluegill, crappie, walleye, etc.)  I think with it being a tourney that its probably just easier to go with biggest fish (1st,2nd,etc..) payouts or else you have 100+ people weighing in countless numbers of fish.  Plus if i knew that it was for money and i would usually throw a non eater back then i might keep it just to put it towards my total weight.  Those are just my opinions though.. Overall the tourney the last 2 years has been great. Mike @ hanks is a great guy to deal with and really takes good care of his customers... ;D

Someone needs to clue me in here?  I spend a lot of time fishing around the Waterloo area.  What is all this talk about Hanks tourney?  I am assuming you are referring to Hanks bait shop.  Maybe I am way off.  Anyhow, please clue me in.

Thanks,

Rob

I am assuming the site admin's are pulling the thread?  Whats the reason for this?

What lake is this held at?  Is it the same lake and weekend every year?

It's not lake specific , you sign in at Hanks on the morning of the tournament then fish wherever you want as long as you are back to weigh in by 5:00 PM. Not sure if it's the same weekend each year.

not always the same weekend but mike down @ hanks always has information out well ahead of time so anyone can get in on it. And yeah you sign in in the morning and you can go anywhere in iowa. Gotta be back by weigh in though. The meal has always been excellent so far also...  Cant wait til next year.. now it's almost time to get the boat out..
