We were on there yesterday (Wednesday), and caught a ton of pickerel and 1-2 lb bass. Kolin Lic caught a 13 lb pike on dead bait as the sun was going down. Nice fish! At least 10" of ice, 12" in most spots we drilled. The only dicey places are near the culverts under Farnums and Nobody's Roads.

Had a great day today, was out there set up by 8:00am.  cold as hell, around 10:00 the flags started flying for an hour nonstop...  left around 12:30, final tally was 3 bass (about 2lbers) 2 perch, 2 pickeral and 2 pike...  first pike any of us have ever caught, one was small around 18" and the other was about 25".  Cool fish man.  cause on just regular shiners live.   Great day all around and all the fish ended up back where they came from... catch and release...

Shantyman, Is that your shack on the first lake? And if so, can I ask why you chose there? Just wondering about your reason for placement there.

Hey Brian! It's Johnny, Kaila's boyfriend.  We actually live about .5 miles from the causeway in Cheshire on Lanesboro Road.  Glad to see you got your first pike.  Thye are amazing fish.  I caught my fill up in Champlain this summer.  Some nice 32" and 34" up there all day long.  Heading to Goose Pond on Sunday in Lee to fish.  Supposed to be cold but beer and stew should do the trick.

I'll let you know when i plan on hitting up Cheshire soon.  Always good fish coming out of there.  Thanks for putting them back for others to enjoy as well!

Has anyone ever had any luck on the southern basin? It's shallow, but that should be good pike habitat.

i was there a couple weekends ago and they were catching some nice bass and pikerel on the south side.  just got to find the dropoffs.  i know there are many warm springs over there.  That might make a difference.

Two weeks ago, I bought some big shiners from Jim. One of the few places around here that has the bigger shiners. $1.50 each, which is kinda middle of the road; there's cheaper than that. He had a lot of bait of different sizes, but there was a derby on Cheshire Lake this weekend, so he may have taken a hit?

I got some there Sunday morning Bryan.  I got 6 large ones and 6 medium ones and he charged me $7.  Not too bad I thought and they were all decent size.  Plus, it is very convenient for me living in Cheshire.

Not me.  I don't even know what a Tiger Muskie even looks like. LOL  I can't even catch a pike.

Last year my son caught a small tiger in Onota. The DFW people said it had to of been put there by a "bucket biologist".

You never know where they'll end up? More than likely, he was caught at Pontoosuc, taken to Daley's (OBL) to be identified, and then dumped into the lake at the end of his driveway?
Tom
