I thought Tobin was the place to go ice fishing? Isn't the world record walleye from there somewhere? I think we should find that guy and get him to teach us how to fish that Tobin Lake....lol

Fished the flats the last 2 days. Fishing was fairly steady with 4-5 flags a day and seeing quite a number of fish in the shack. Couldnt get them to bite. Also had a number of flags where the bait was still there but no fish. From watching in the shack, looked like they were just coming up and nosing it but not actually hitting. Quite frustrating when you are watching it happen in the shack! Some fish would actually swim around the bait for 5-10 minutes and never strike. Tried everything, ciscoe sitting still, jigged, twitched, dropped, lifted, nothing would get them to go. Did same thing with a jigging spoon and minnows. Anyone ever experience this? Find anything that worked? Our biggest fish for the trip was 42" 20 pounds.

Try downsizing your presentation (smaller lure, smaller minnow(or half minnow)).  Do lots of fine twitching while lifting or dropping.

If that doesn't work - go big.  That works less often than downsizing but I've had finicky walleye that wouldn't touch any bait that wasn't at least 4 inches long.
