From mid-February to end of March, my wife and I fish Regina Beach...easy access and the fishing heats up in the spring.

I was new to regina about 1 1/2 years ago, although I ice-fished a lot where I came from.  Last Mountain Lake and the Qu'appelle lakes (Pasqua, Echo, Mission, and Ketepwa) are all within an hour of Regina and can be good for fishing. Just hit these local lakes and ask a lot of questions. You'll figure it out - I did. You can get minnows at Great Northern or Pokey's. These will work well. The guys at these shops will help you out a lot too.  I also like to use chubby darters and jigging rapalas (both artificial lures).  What do you want to fish for? Pike? Walleye? Perch? Burbot? Whatever bites?
I'm still figuring it out myself, but if you want to go with me, send me a pm and I can take you fishing and I'll show you what I know.

If you want to try Mission then drive to Fort Qu'appelle.  Drive through town on highway #10 (heading east) and turn south at the Mission Ridge sign.  Once past the hospital you will go over the river crossing with steel guard rails.  At the immediate end of the guard rail turn left.  The road will lead you about 300 yards to the lake.  I have been taking my minivan on the ice with no problems.  You'll see lots of shacks.  Because of river currents/possible thin ice,  stick to the main trail until you get to the shacks.
