this reminds me of a joke i heard ...2 guys decide to go ice fishing early one morning. Not long before daybreak they pull up to where they plan to fish. they walk out on the ice and the one angler goes to drill a hole and hears hey there are no fish hear , unsure  ???of where it came from he moves a few yards away and starts again. again he hears hey ther are no fish here, once again he movs away and goes to drill a hole and hears hey there are no fish here. The angler then wonders if its a sign from god :o and asks god is that you? The vioce replies no im the janater for the ice rink you idiot now get of the ice :P ...not the funiest but i liked it

There seems to be no fish in my lake either... I know there are, I just have to find them and then get them to bite.

Spent several hundreds of dollars on a vexilar and not catching any fish? lol

I caught about a total of 25 perch and 15 gills today, and that's just from jigging. I don't use a flasher, I just move to where the fish are biting. If they're there, and they're in the mood, you'll catch them. But if they're not there or they're not feeding, no matter how much money you've spent on your electronics, you won't get em.

If there are fish in the lake and you can't find them with your Vex or camera then it might help to use your head and think from a fish's point of view.
Fish are predators and it is cold and pretty uncomfortable down there this time of year. They look for places that offer safety, warmth, oxygen and food. Find cover or structure. Find where the water may be a half a degree warmer or more oxygenated or find where the other fish they eat are hiding.

Even if you hit the exact right spot, you then have to hope they are feeding and interested in what you have on the menu and how you present it.

You can sit in the same spot for hours, get nothing and change nothing and all of a sudden things start happening and then it turns off again.

This is why they call it fishing instead of catching.
