Entry Pictures ..
« on: Jan 05, 2010, 07:37 AM »

There have been several entry pics that have been removed due to being too small .. they have to be at least 450 pixels.  Anywhere between 450 and 600 is good.

Also the quality has been low on a few. I highly suggest staying away from cell phone pics as they usually aren't of great quality. If I can't work with the rule and numbers it is unfortunately DQ'd.

Another point is the yelow push/pull rule. Some have been rusty, etc. and hard to read. If I can't read it it is DQ'd.

Good Luck !

I've seen a lot of photos with the fisherman and the fish WITHOUT the tourney card in it....is that legal because I thought the card had to be in that photo too?

Only the first photo must have the rule, fish and card.

" Photo 2: This photo must have the angler and fish together while still out on the ice with the lake (ice) in the background and the anglers face uncovered. If in a shanty step outside for the picture.
If the pic is taken at night kneel and take the pic at a downward angle so as to include the ice. "

It doesn't hurt to have it in the second photo.

As I explain every year I can only go by the photo's. Many things come into play .. angles, shadows, etc.. My measurement can vary from the entrants .. that doesn't mean anything. Read the photo tips :

                                                             Photo  Tips :

Use a rule with the largest numbers you can find.
Take the photo directly above fish  ... not at an angle.
Take several photos to ensure at least one meets the criteria.
Fill the pic with the entry, rule and card and avoid side clutter.

I'd rather not DQ any entries but if the rules aren't followed I have to. Please read the rules.  ;)

Joe Snag ... that would be DQ'd. Glare all over the rule .. can't make out any #'s or incriments.

KiddMyBassNH .. it would be OK but the angle is severe which would probably cost you.

Again the pic should be taken straight down and as close as possible.
If you are standing and taking the pic you are probably 5 feet away. You can bend down or use zoom to engulf the entry, rule and card.

I know enough to not cover any part of the tape with the fish. But, just to be clear for everyone's sake. Will an entry be dq'd if part of the tape is covered by the fish?
The angle of the dangle is directly proportionate to the heat of the beat.

I give lead way on this. I know out on the ice the fish can move, you're trying to get a good/quick pic and possibly release the fish. If the fish is slightly on the rule I usually let it slide.
Obviously if the fish is covering a lot of the rule I DQ. Also if the fish is covering the beginning / end or both I DQ.

I think this fish is a Northern Pike minnow. The northern pike minnow have no adipose fin and the whitefish do and the mouth is like a northern pike minnow not small like the whitefish. However it's a good fish for the draws though. ;)2
