With all this cold weather do you think there will be ice on Quinte between xmas and new years?

Last I heard, the launches are all icing in pretty good, but that's about it...I wouldn't bet on safe ice by Christmas...but...it's set to be pretty frosty.  Maybe in some protected areas....   :-\

Guy who runs charters posted on another board that he's found enough ice to be booking for outings next week...so it's starting.  Think he said about 5 inches...but not sure where exactly he was checking.

I think it's the Trenton area. Deseronto is iced up but not safe yet. Fair bit of current moves around Forresters Island going out towards Picton.

hey there just seen a posting on a local fourm abut info on the quinte on somone who fishes the bay quite often..im surprised that there is this much already with the wind and the fast coldness

here it is from the site..and i quote

"was out today, checking some popular bay of Quinte spots here is what I found

Old church 50 feet off shore 1 inch of ice

shermans didn't make it more than 25 feet

Huffs road 1 3/4" about 100 feet out

I would say by early week there should be decent ice in some of these locations. but as of right now it's not very good.

soon lads vverrryyy sooon....back lakes must have more ice
its not the size of the worm its how you wiggle your rod!
