To all interested parties we will be doing another famous icefishing day this Saturday. Bring a good attitude and maybe something to share with the chili. Let us know how many are coming with you and we can make one fun day out of it. No age limit, must abide by all fishing regulations. Who is in? We meet in the parking lot of Coal lake at 9:30 am (North end)

I won't be able to make it out that Day, I am helping my sister and her Family move into their New place. I expect it to take most of the day...

I will bring my quad and trailer to haul stuff out if anyone needs. Just look for the truck,quad and trailer in the parking lot at 9:30.

Hey everyone, just getting back from coal and fishing has been great the last 2 days, lots of ice. My kids have Hockey at noon but we might drop out after that, sounds like it should be a blast!

I drilled 8 holes over the 2 days and averaged 12". I went on at the ice at the north end where the boat launch is, there were half a dozen of us scattered around. Lots of vehicle tracks with a main drag down the lake, snow was a little deep plowing my own way.

New myself, welcome Bunman. I was told about coal and true to there word no skunky smell leaving the lake just a nish fishy one!

Trucks packed...snow is falling and Ryan is just about here to set off on another Coal lake adventure. I have a red eskimo tent so drop by and tell us what we are doing wrong lol.

I drive a jeep liberty, I didn't have any trouble yesterday with 4x4 on. There is a pretty good main drag on the lake that is packed down nice, sounds like there will be a bunch there and I believe someone has offered to take people out on their quad (i think it was Rumtan). I did end up going to Coal lake to meet Ryan and Rumtan....Good guys.The weather wasn't the best but overall had a great time...In total 22 pike were caught in 3.5 hours...nothing of size.

The chili was superb and the laughing was non-stop. Another good time was had by all. There were loads of vehicles driving on the ice. Ice was about 14" but the faster they drove the more the ice cracked........go slow and save yourself from going through on the return trip accross the lake.

. Sounds like you all had a blast, good tally according to Warren77. Any perch in the mix? I know we saw lots on the camera last year when Rumtan & I did Coal (though ofcourse we didn't catch any

). Coal's become quite the popular spot. Too bad you gotta drive out for the good fishing spots... Anyone take photos? POST EM'! Haven't seen any pics up this year.

I met Ryan and WalleyeWhisperer there today (good guys - sorry about that rod WW!

). Lost one big pike and landed a whole bunch of 2lbers.. no perch though I'm convinced I had a bite from one during a brief break in the crazy pike action.

The pike weren't terribly interested in big smelts/herring.. but they wouldn't leave my jig/minnow alone for more than a few minutes.

A ton of small pike at Coal.I have only fished it that one time but we did catch alot of fish...but nothing over 3lb's...I rather catch catch less 5lb-20lb pike then 2lb'ers.....There are better spots but still fun none the less.

Really wish I had made it out, always a great time with Members of the "Goon Squad"

Hope there will be another gathering soon, wouldn't mind getting out and meeting up for a day of laughs and fishing.
