First time out...

I woke up this morning coughing, feeling kinda weak, thinking I'm going to stay home today and be smart.  Then, the pull of the addiction starts coming on strong... I'm going to find some ice.  Pulled the vex off charge, grab the gear and I was gone.  Well, mission accomplished, I found some ice sitting on 5 FOW and everything past that depth was unsafe, so I was fishing 2 acres of a 500+ acre lake.  Since mother nature was picking the fishing spot, I knew I could get some gills, crappie, and bass.  Drop the ice fly down, and within 30 seconds the vex lite up... boom... I'm wishing it's a monster gill, nope...



Lost two more bigger (of course) bass, then started getting a few target fish.


All in all, got a nice mess of decent gills and crappie fishing from 3 til dark... it was great to get out, I hope fishing was the remedy of my sickness.

W_W,  and in regard to the ice... All I'll say is I told my wife there was 4" of safe ice...

Hightide,I loved the way you put that you fished 2 acres on a 500 acre Lake Instead of just saying I fished Morse................l mao......its ok,you can put what Lake it was my friend,I sware to God I wont be there,you know where I wanna be,theres just no ice there yet,good job on a nice mess of fish,

Nice...I was out 'til 2am whooping it up with the wife and man did it rain after about 11pm. Glad to see you got a few, just wish Mother Nature would have cooperated overnight.

Jimmy, Morse Res. is 1500 acres of water and it has no safe ice, heck I might hit it in the boat today... I was closer to you then you know , and fyi, you know I don't care if you come fish Morse or any where else I fish.  Granted, I don't give up most of my spots on-line, but if you're a friend, all you got to do is ask.  Glad to hear you got a few yesterday.

Bret, you know I was in my waders, tore the crotch out of them jumping barbed wire though... glad I didn't have any further damage.  

Tom, I came clean this morning... told her I was on 2-1/2 inches... but followed it up with "we are having fresh baked gills and crappie for dinner, works every time...

Mark, you better be hanging with the wife, because you know your gonna be MIA for about 3 months solid, heck I hope you took a couple pictures.  .  I'm gonna do the same, I just glad mine loves watch the Colts... I'm a lucky man.

Rained all night, so I watching football at 1:00, but may chase a Sauger first...
