Can't be much longer.  I stopped by the bridge in Douglas today and the Platte was skimmed along the edges.  

I should say, I don't ever plan on stepping on that ice.

I am new to ice shanty got the idea from friends that are already members.  I have only been ice fishing for a couple of years but have become more excited for each year and cant wait for this year.  I have only fished the flaming gorge each year.  Hopefully we will have a better year this year the lake never completely froze last year.  I am hoping for much better year this year I got a x67c last year and only got to use it a few times.

Welcome Wyo, you will really like this site.  I too have the x67c, nice unit...can't go wrong with electronics, you will out fish anyone that doesn't have any.

if you are asking me ryan...yes I got the aquavu quad this year, got it on ebay for about 150 less than you can in the stores and it is brand new!!!

perch crazy,   i was talking to you. i remember when you had a marcum flasher and were out fishing everyone. have you got to use that quad yet?  i bought a camera last year and it sure has change the whole game.

I haven't got to use it yet Ryan.  I charged it up and played with it a little bit, I think it will be awesome.  I love having a camera, if the fish aren't biting you can change your tactics and watch how they react.

Shoot, I'm planning on it. We just sold our house and are looking to build so this ice year might be slim. I hope not but you know how that goes. I want to get my ice stuff out before it so conveniently gets packed away and gets put in the back of a storage unit.

Rodrunner that is exactly what I had planned. I would build the best ice house ever. 1700ft sq sitting ever so pretty on the ice with holes strategically placed in every room, even in the bathrooms. It would be a beautiful thing but my delusion of grandeur is short lived, so thank you for your offer to house an ice addicted firefighter. Ill share my minnows and pendleton whiskey

bohman77 Are you going to build your new home yourself? I think you have time off with your job. About 10 years ago I built my own home. I started right after archery season, October as luck would have it, we had one of the mildest winter on the Wyoming record books. I missed the hard water season that year. But the perks of the new creature comforts were well worth it. Good luck on your new home.

Amen brother on the ice addicted FF..I feel it too!..Hope to get with ya this winter and rip some lips..I plan on taking my family to the derby. My wife wants to get a hotel in shoshoni as she thinks the camper will be to cold.For her it might be, just have to wait and see what the weather is doin i guess

I feel your pain, I have the day with absolutely nothing to do today, fridge full of bait, tank of gas, all the gear loaded...
and a wind chill of -26 now, forecast for -30.  What to do.....pout!
Holding off until Friday...the fish will still be there.
