   Supposed to be a high of 27 F this coming Fri (12/4/09) in the Illinois Valley area. I'm getting antsie......

  I had to pickup my son at Midway airport this afternoon and there were a few snow flurries on the way home between Chicago and Peru. I'm taking that as a good sign.

Shallow ponds along 80 this morning had partial ice. The protected ones more than the open ones.

Skim on the edges of pond behind the house today.  These cold nights are what we've really been needing!

Spotted ice on the edges of some of the highway ponds along I-88 coming back from Moline, IL. It was bitter cold loading groceries in the back of the Durango yesterday. And windy as heck!!
