Echo makes augers, who knew?
« on: Nov 01, 2009, 09:07 PM »
Echo Outdoor Power Equipment (also known as Kioritz of Japan)  makes a power auger, primarily as an earth auger, but apparantly they also sell an ice bit for their power head.  I think most of us would know them as weed trimmer/chainsaw makers.

Although, at 700 bucks, I don't think the average guy will ever seriously consider these things for recreational use, but I do have an echo weed trimmer, and that little Kioritz engine is very ballsy, great torque out of that little thing, I would imagine that their auger would be pretty slick as well.

I don't suppose anyone has ever used this thing before?  Not likely to find anyone, unless they are a landscape contractor who happens to use their tool ice fishing as well.

I saw them being used on the Ice Road Truckers show and looked them up last year.   I guess Husqvarna makes augers too, or at least the power head.
