The boys are on in the Yukon
« on: Oct 15, 2009, 11:10 AM »
Just heard from an acquaintance that he was fishing in the Yukon a couple days ago on a small iced over lake. 4 inches of ice. Shouldn't be long now boys and girls.

Where abouts in the Yukon Terry?
We have some ice but it is going to take a hit over the next few days as they are calling for +6 tomorrow.
Atleast the forcast has changed in the last couple of days. They were calling for +9 and rain on Saturday, but it has been changed to +1 and a snow rain mix.

Terry it sounds like it is time for the Green Hermit's first trip of the 2009-2010 season . Seven months of ice sounds great the downside must be the home heating bill.
May you and all the B.C. members have a sucessful and safe ice season.

Thanks Steve. You all have a great season to. I burn wood here in northern BC and have loads of wood out my back door so pretty cheap. Unfortunately Yukon is still quite a ways north of us :'(

Not exactly sure where Dave but he told me he could show me on a map. Probably northern section around Faro would be my guess. Said it was a small lake. I also told him we like pictures ;D

We gots some ice here too, but I'm not puttin' my fat butt on it yet.   ;D
Here's some shots from yesterday of my closest lake to home.
It houses Pike, Walleye and whitefish.

Not a hut, it's a cardboard box or something.
It's only about 25 yds away.   ;)

I put 1/2 weight on the ice and it was cracking, there's NO WAY I'm setting foot out there.   ;D
