« on: Mar 15, 2009, 10:09 PM »
took the kids out fishing today. gave a limit of gills to a friend that had to leave early.
then went exploring and got 3 more limits of gills and crappie.

my youngest got this 13 1/2 inch crappie.

the middle boy got some nice gills and the little pike (no size limit)

got these on saturday

Looks like you have a whole school of fish swimming by on top of the ice.
I'm not as good as I once was but I am good once as I ever was.

It's easier to fillet those then to clean a couple hundred smelt by yourself.

I can clean each in a minute or less....25 gills, 25 minutes, 2 fillets each.....maybe smelt a little quicker. Still work though.....not as much fun as the catchin.
