Hi roberts, I was down there on sunday, in a boat and they opened the dam on us. we had some big fish on but needless to say we didn't,t get them in.  caught on catfish and one carp.  Yesterday (Thursday) went over the dam, and even more water is going out. Sorry for the bad new, but if you went to whitebreast behind the VA, I am sure you could catch some nice catfish because the ice just went out this week, and lot of shad are floating, the cats will be gorging themselves, also you may want to try Roberts creek, see if you can pick up some dead shad, you will slay the cats.  Hope you and you dad have a great fishing day.

I second that, we were below the dam on Thurs, and got a bunch of rough fish.  The water is virtually unfishable now, so I would try something else.

Icerod, have you been getting cats down there?  Id love to take a day and try that.

Well....... I was down at red rock yesterday. The damn very very high.  We couldn't fish below becasue the water was moving at moch speed. There were 3 boats down there and they had a hard time, they had to go into the back waters, I don't know if they had any luck. We looked for shad along the shore to use but the darn birds were everywhere and beat us to them :P I found a fresh carp on the rocks still kicking and we used that.  We went to the lake and tried some bays.  The first spot we  tried was the tube coming from roberts creek.  We didn't have one taker, the water is flowing from roberts creek into red rock.  The water is extremely muddy and high.  We tried 2 other spots but the carp just wasn't producing.  If you are able to get some shad or use some fresh sunfish as cut bait you should do ok.  The cats should be in the shallow bays going nuts, but we didn't have the luck yesterday.  We didn't try the back water below the dam on the north side, but that could be a possibility for you.  I am sorry I didn't get back to you until now but because of finances we don't have the internet at home. Good luck tomorrow.
