Haven't been there yet, but would also like to ask if anyone has the info on the Frances Derby next month?

Heard it was slow and sucked from several different people. Perch are small and gone and Pike are few and far between. Walleye are also pretty slow. That is what I heard from 3 different parties. We usually fish that derby also but probably will not this year, last year all we weighed in was a quarter pound perch that got 4th place. pretty bad.

We fished last Monday on the 19th.We fished down from the light house, past the big tree.We put out 12 tip-ups and moved around and jig various spots. We caught 25 perch biggest about 10 inches,1 walleye 3lbs and no Nothrens.
We fished 8-14 ft of water and the nothing on the tip-ups,pretty slow.A guy behind us set-up 14-25 ft of water and caught 2 northerns about 5 lbs each and some realy small perch. The Ice was 18 inches thick.

The derby is saturday the 14th of Feb at 8 am,thats what the sign said at the Panther cafe.

The catching might suck but the beer will be cold and the brats will be hot! I'm going up on the 13th and staying until the 15th if it's not too windy we are going to set up the wall tent out there and put a keg in the middle! so if any of you make the trip look for us and come have a few cold ones or bring a cot and stay for all I care! I don't know where on the lake we will be but I'm sure it won't be hard to find us! If any of you guys want to come stay PM me and we can set it up I think we only have 3-4 guys so far so there will be room.
