Park Pond 1/24
« on: Jan 24, 2009, 05:45 PM »
I thought I'd try somewhere I never went before - Park Pond.  Just jigged.  Niice quiet place.  Caught 8 perch plus Sunnies. It's a long walk to get to more than 5 feet of water. I took a detour on my way home to see what's going on at Colebrook. There were quite a few people fishing there. The boat launch area was plowed out nice. Maybe I'll try it there next week. I've never ice fished there before either.
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of something elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions of hope.

There are some nice bass hiding in there, but it's not the easiest place. It's also a bit weedy there. Find the breaks in the weeds and you'll probably do well.

I've fished it maybe 5 times between open water and ice, and always did better in the boat. I lost a couple decent fish there this summer, and definitely plan on hitting Park soon to get back on those spots.
