wow, thats awesometaxidermist1, gotta make one myself. thanks for sharing.

If you have an questions give me a holler. I've learned from my mistakes over the years.

Smaller is actually better pond size wise to keep the temps down in the summer as you don't need to add as much well water to do so. Only downside is pumping the well water adds about $100.00 a month to my electrical bill. However I make it up by selling the fish. In the winter I let the pond freeze over and don't feed. The trout do fine and make up for the lost growth once the water warms back up a little. The well keeps max temps in the low to mid 60's in the hottest part of the summer.

Here's a good website forum regarding ponds and they have a magazine too. I've done a few articles for it.  ;D

I found this pic of a male with big shoulders. He was dark as it was late in the spawn. I love the males that get this conformation in the fall.

O.K. I guess I have the name mixed up with another taxidermist.

I was told about a trout hatchery near Plymouth that is sitting idle (or at least it was a year or two ago) that has incredible potential for artesian flow.  Last I heard it is growing up with weeds as the owner passed on and his son has no interest.

I think it's near Plymouth as there is a strain of brown trout named the Plymouth Rock Strain that came from there. That is where my browns originally came from.

Here's a pic to show how nice these fish look:

No just commercial pellets but they get fed well. The real pigs were the females, but in all fairness some of this is eggs.

Shrewsbury? Interesting.

Yep right off 140.had a good size pond and also 6 or 7 concrete tanks.I believe he also operated a fly fishing only club on the property.I know this because I did most of the electrical work for him. :icefish:
