What Is The Deepest You Ever Caught a Crappie At?

I was Perch fishing Sunday on bottom in 32 FOW. No Perch, but I pulled up an 8" Crappie from the bottom. The Perch were found later to be in 20 FOW. What is the deepest you ever caught a Crappie?

Prolly close to 30. I too was trying for perch and pulled up a speck.

I've heard that if you get a crappie up from below 15 feet or so, his air bladder will burst, and you'll have a dead speck. Anyone else heard that? I don't know if it's true or not, just wonderin.

I have never had a problem with that, if I do release them, they are still very much alive.

im catching my limit every time i go out and there all in 30 fow and most of them come up lifeless and even quit fighting half way up.  its kinda nice not having to worry about loosing one at the hole cause if you do hell just float around at the top

I've caught them in 50+ foot, usually suspended, sometimes they die, most of the time they die in the pail...I love it when they're over the deep water but just under the ice...drives the locals crazy...

26 ft in Honeoye lake which is only 30 ft deep.  I have also got them that deep in the summer schooled up off some deep points.

have caught them in 60ft of water suspended from 55 to 35feet during late ice on a very deep southern Wisconsin lake some do float when they come off but they all go in the bucket to hit the hot oil yum yum

It all depends on how fast you pull them up!

it all depends really i have got them in 36 fow suspended at 26-20fow its weird but the thing is thats the way they get...lately i have found them in 26 fow suspended anywhere from 2-20 ft off the bottom....when you find a school they will usually be everywhere in whatever fow they feel comfortable........... ..

32, ft. on a rock pile was hopeing they where walleye, but they was a large school of larg  crp,got 24 that morn, 12 to14inch.  had a few dinks that went back and seem to bee ok, asfor the others, cold knif and a hot pan............mmmmmmm mmmmmm   gooooooooood
