Well Jiggy sure showed me how to catch those little ones.  Average size on Jiggy's line was about 6 inches but he swears there are bigger fish in the river.

Jiggy and Mooter, you guys should come to Helena and fish the York Bridge(during the week hopefully) and I'll show you guys some really nice fish...average 4 lbs or so.  and your net will be full of FISH instead of beer, but that's not a bad way to go either :roflmao:

naw...I'll give him a break, this is wade fishing, so bring waders and warm liners too, the water's only about 38 degrees.

Walltrout, do you know where this is? We could ride together, do you have a fly rod?

Yes. I fished there last weekend.  Yeah we could ride together.  If you are planning on spending the night, you can stay at my place.  I don't own a fly rod but that's fine. I will fish other ways  ........ BOOM!!!!!

I tried to get my sister to cover for me at work but she can't do it so I have to be in bozo until 4:30 fri afternoon.....Anyway to do it over the weekend?

I am good to do anything this weekend.  I need to find the time to go pack up the ice shack sometime this weekend, but that shouldn't be a problem. What are rrfish's plans?

If you remember where the regulating reservior is, the bridge is right up the road about 10 miles.

Should be a blast...but get here early, because on the weekends it can be a zoo out there.  Jiggy...remember as you're coming in to East Helena and just after you pass the sign to reduce speed to 55 there will be a road to your right that kind of angles off to your right a little.  Take that right( it's right in the middle of a left hand turn) and take anonther right on LAKE HELENA DRIVE, so you'll be headaing north at that point.  You'll come to a stop sign by a school, proceed forward and to the next stop sign which will be CANYON FERRY ROAD, continue forward to the next stop sign and that will be YORK ROAD.  Turn right and go about 10-12 miles or so...you'll see the Bridge across the river...THAT"S IT!!!i'll PM you my phone # so you can call when you get into town...service can be sketchy out there with cell phone.  Rob

Not sure bout that.  If there's beer to be drunk and fish to be caught, Jiggy will drive all night to get there if he has too.

Sat is lookin good....How's the ice on hauser walltrout? safe? We could fish for slimy ones fri night and go the river on sat.......

Ice was still good on Sunday by my uncles place but it was going out fast.  It was all open water by the causeway.  I don't think I would trust it unless we got out there early enough to check it out in the daylight.  I know a place to catch ling open water at night though that I have been wanting to check out.

My uncle has a place on the lake that the ice seems to last longer than anywhere else.  It was a solid 15 inches on Sunday but don't know how it is now.
