I'm not that good at fishing, but even I know you can't catch sturgeon in the parking lot... ;)

There are 20 or so Muskie in the far pond.  They were placed there to get the suckers when the water breached the dike a few years ago.

12/20/16
I stopped at pond #2 and there were 2 guys fishing and were not having any luck. The water under the ice appeared to be only 16" deep on most of the pond, with black areas where they were fishing that they said was about 5' deep. I saw a couple other dark areas also. There are schools of small trout ( 8" )that mob your bait they said. They had a couple 3-4lb bass come look their bait over but wouldn't take. This was their 2nd day there. The day before they went across to #3 on the river ice and caught pumpkin seed but nothing else, warmed up and when they came back there was water running over the river ice which was scary they said but never fell thru. The also said there are now pike in the river there.

There have been pike in the river there for at least 20 years.

Crossed the river last year to go to pond 3 and had a similar experience. Caught one tiny crappie trying hard and moving around all day.  The river is shallow if you cross the ice in the right place but still a little scary.
