Turtle in Polson?  Haven't ever fished it, and never had even thought about it.

Fished it today.  As many dinks as a guy ever wants to catch.  Did ice 4 keepers and 2 of those were a stretch.  Caught one decent one, maybe 11 and when he came out of the hole, I woulda sworn he was 14  ;D  Perception gets a little wack after you catch 50 the size of your little finger.

Does anyone know if Horte Reservoir over there in that area has any fish in it and if it does are they worth going after?

Hey 95, you can catch those little perch almost anywhere. Start on the point just out from the picnic tables. Thats where dfish, dt, and I spent all day and had a blast. Only a few decent fish but more than a guy could count.

Grew up in the Pablo, Ronan, Charlo area and never fished or heard anyone talk about it. Fished Crow since I could walk but only drove by Horte a million times. Not sure its even deep enough as most the time times in the summer it looks just like a stagnant irrigation pond but I could be wrong. Call Ronan Sports and Western and ask for Benny. He'll give ya the scoop.

Thanks man, I like to fish up there when I go up to Ronan to the Dr for my yearly checkup. I'll give them a yell and see if it is worth trying that one while I am up there.

Ya Crow is pretty solid but it always talks to ya and be careful on the edges. You'll be able to see holes from the road. Not sure when your appt is but I think Pablo and Ninepipe open on like the 15 or something, don't quote me though as I don't have my rez regs with me. They're capped but don't know how thick. Also I haven't heard anything about Kicking Horse.

I think bird season ends Friday the  11th. I would think 2x about fishing Crow....fished it a week ago and it is sooo low. Probably 10' lower than the last time I fished it and it was low then.

They've been doing pretty good for trout on Crow. The low water concentrates them more. Its deep enough that it ain't going to winter kill.

Fished crow this morning. Slllllooooowwwwww.  One dink bow, one 19" brown and a handful of dink perch.

Anyone ever catch a respectable perch outta there?  I would doubt it, but I'm curious.
