Title: Mr Heater weak pilot light
Post by: Deadseafisherman on Dec 26, 2018, 03:42 PM
I have a Mr Heater MH9B that has been sitting for several years, pilot light lights, but is very weak. Probably a dirty orifice, but can't my owners manual for it. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

they say a pilot orifice is smaller than a human hair.
glad you got it going. did you use chemicals or compressed air or q-tip or an orifice cleaning/burnishing tool?

if you keep it closed tight when not using it they stay cleaner and no bugs or webs get into them. i use a litter bucket for mr heater little buddy with a tiny lantern head and other items for ice fishing and a zippered bag built for the mr heater portable and big buddy heaters.

I actually took it apart and used compressed air to blow it out, the orifice didn't look that small. I've changed orifices in gas stoves and this one looked bigger.

Well at least you didn't have the 5" blow torch pilot light.  One time, I think my quick connect wasn't fully seated.  I was like this pilot light is blazing long!

10 minutes later, the Buddy Heater became a demon fireball possession.  LOL...Shut the bulk tank off and the flames went out.  Glad nothing got burnt, due to quick reaction.
