I doubt if he had a clue. He was one of those who think you should only fly fish.  I don't think he approved of live bait.  He used to do a radio and TV show on KTWO in the early 70s.

In the early 60,s he came to science classes and gave talks. Had a little casting pole with a rubber plug.... if you were talking he would cast it at your noggin!!!!

Lived in NEVADA for short time before moving back to WYOMING in NEVADA corn was legal as bait talked to game and fish there and biologist told me studies said corn did not kill trout  ,Used it few times with success

Moderation is the key here (I think) as far a the corn thing goes  (heck - you can die from drinking too much water)  - so if a fish eats to much corn I am sure its not good for them either.

Those guys are the worst.  I don't care if a guy fly fishes only but it gets annoying as heck when they think everyone else needs to only fly fish too.
