Lappan's Bay?
« on: Jan 06, 2008, 03:21 PM »
Does anyone know where there is a parking area to fish lappan's bay? There is a house down where everyone parked before.
If the ice never melted I'd never leave.

Not even sure where Lappan's Bay is, but when I can't find an 'official' access in the F&G Digest I use FlashEarth...

Do you mean Laphams's Bay???  We used to park at a friend's camp during the winter, I think the Torrey's used to let people park in front of their pavillion, but I have not been down there in a few years.  If the Torreys are still around, they used to live in the farmhouse as you pull onto the road.  If you asked, they would probably still let you park there, very nice people.

If it is Laphams, then the state access is available.  Just a long walk out to the edge of the weeds.

I don't know of any packing at Lappan's Bay.  There is a gate that is closed as you go left.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE RIGHT IN PAST THE HOUSES AND PARK ANYWHERE
PROVIDED THERE IS SPACE AND IT HAS BEEN PLOWED. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MAKING SURE OUR ACCESS
TO THE LAKE IS CLEAR.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR FEEL IT IS NOT BEING PLOWED PM ME.
AND IT IS CALLED LAPHAMS BAY IN CASE YOU TRY LOOKING FOR IT ON A MAP

I drove by Saturday morning and I have to say the bay was about 80-85 % totally open and what ice there was didn't look to sturdy. I didn't see any one fishing (or swimming)  :%$#!:
