Got out over the weekend
« on: Dec 30, 2019, 11:34 AM »
Managed to spend a day on the ice Saturday. Fished in west Swanton for the first half of the day and did good on perch, filled a five gallon pail between two of us. The ice was about 6-7” where we were, but with the wind the open water was getting closer and closer so we packed it up. Hit Fairfield on my way home, didn’t stay long. 3-4” of clear black ice, caught a bass and a couple slab sunnies. Overall not a bad first day out, hopefully we get some colder weather to really solidify things.

Carmi had open water on Saturday so we checked out Missisquoi Bay. Over 8" of ice even half a mile out. Season on!! Stop in at Martin's General Store for gear and advice.

My friend got the ICE-55.  Not comparable at all with a marcum.  There is a big time delay between the jig movement and what you see on this flasher.

Yea I brought my ice 55 and m3 out on st. A bay on Saturday.. Both worked amazing in 18 ft of water.. I'll continue to test both and see which one I like better..
