Ice on Mirror lake is horrible.

There's about 6-10 inches of snow, then a 1-2 inch layer of frozen slush, then a 4 inch pocket of wet slush, then about 2 inches of clear ice below that. When I went out with the kids, we were breaking through the top layer of frozen slush and were only supported by a thin layer of clear ice. All the snow insulated the lake and it's not freezing well.

If you go there, use extreme caution.
Life is short. Go fishing.

How’s the ice holding up with the rain? I would like to go tomorrow but it’s not supposed to get below freezing tonight and I would imagine it will be a sloppy mess?

I was at hauser a few days ago and the ice was pretty good it probably will have quite a bit of water on the ice but it should be good ice yet.

Thanks Jim. I went for an hour and half this morning. Pulled up 14. Slush wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Nice catch Smitty.  I hit fernan.   Little slush.  Caught some trout.  Ice pretty good.   Between snow pack and ice 9 inches.  Was close to bouy.

I was going to check on Hauser today but I had a plumbing issue at my rental house to deal with. Wind started blowing pretty hard anyway, maybe blow some of that rain water off of the ice.  ;D

Checked Spirit and Upper twin yesterday.  6-8 inches slop/standing water on top of maybe 4 inches of ice.  I would use extreme caution and bring some tall rubber boots.  Upper twin was way better.  2-3 inches of slush on 7-8 inches of ice.  Fishing was horrible however.

Fished Hauser in the rain on Monday…5 to 6 inches of good ice with a two to four inches of slush. Caught a lot of perch on in 25ish feet of water. Most were pretty small but managed a couple of keepers. Pink was a good color for us.

Fished Hauser this afternoon good 5-6" of clear ice 2" of white and 2-3" of slush on top. I talked to a couple of other fisherman, nobody caught much and I caught 0.

Gamlin has 3 inches good ice with 5 of dirty ice on top of that. Then 2 inches of slush with a frozen inch on the top. Perch were streaky but the streaks came consistently.

Hauser was good to me and a friend we pulled a total of 40 perch and one Bluegill  had 4 tipups out for channel cat  only had one flag (my bait may have been to big ) I need to find out where the channel cats are hanging out so I can target them better

Thanks for info on Hauser.  Haven't been on lower twin since little melt but should be good but slushy.   Not sure where I go tomorrow.

I saw your tip ups I was fishing with another guy just to the north of your weasterly tip up. I missed the bite but my buddy had a good pile before I got there. If I'd known that was you I'd have introduced myself.

Anybody been on twin? Upper or lower?

Went out on upper twin yesterday morning…about a half to an inch of frozen slush then about 5 inches of better ice. Didn’t stay long drilled a few holes and jigged a bit. Didn’t get any takers or mark anything. To be fair I don’t fish twin lakes much so I was likely in the wrong spot.
