Title: - 2 Ice Fishing "PB' S"- 2019
Post by: choo choo on Mar 23, 2019, 06:53 AM: You never know what you are going to catch when you head out on the ice.
I got lucky and caught 2 ice fishing personal bests this year, and both came from Oneida Lake, different days.
Ice Season is winding down for me,..... here are the 2 fish.

not really that common., but knocked off a few warts on the fish,..growths and warts are more common on the walleyes.

You sure did have a terrific ice season.... miss your ice fishing reports, and thanks for posting so many reports all season long.

(My golf clubs are packed, and I am heading south today or tomorrow for a few days ..waiting on some friends who are staying here at my house while i'm down south....can't wait to put that first tee in the ground !)

Followed up with my biggest largemouth bass ever in February, 22 inch brute that I was very lucky to pull out of a 6 inch ice hole. Hand scale was frozen, so I couldn't get the weight, I'm quite sure it was in the 6 lbs range though.

Great day for you Freshwater..Beautiful Largemouth bass, and they fight good too, to bad about the walleye.
I have iced several Largemouths in the 22 " class, but this was my first ever ice fishing Smallmouth that reached that magical 20" inch mark.

But I got to thinking about how "funny" it is that a fat little 10" inch panfish can get so many "thumbs ups"...nice fish etc.
I will try , (but I know it won't happen) to catch a bigger one next year ! lol

I have yet to catch a smallmouth on ice, sort of weird, being that I've caught dozens of largies on ice.
