Delta ,you are allowed to park in the pull off by the batchellerville bridge at the town beach. Pretty decent spot if you are there at the right time. Just watch where the current from the creek comes out, and around the bridge pilings

Every time I have tried to park there, it has been full either of trucks or plowed up snow. That's why I said parking was "iffy".

I fished the mouth of Hans creek in Benedict bay yesterday with no luck,3 inches in the bay, and 5-6 farther out into the main lake.

I have rented a cabin valentines weekend on the southern tip of GSL.
Has anybody been out there fishing this year?
Looking for ice conditions? snow conditions?
Looking to catch either walleye or Pike...

I have fished GSL previously with minimal luck.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

Yeah it was pretty nice, I'm probably going to head out again on monday or tuesday next week.

They seemed to be hanging out on mud flats I was fishing 13-16 feet small shiners on my tipups, Lindy walleye talker tipped with a minnow on my jigging rod

Work took me up to Northville today via Rt. 30. Looking south from the bridge several pop-ups were about 1/4 - 1/2 mile down the east side and in that inlet or bay. While driving back down I noticed some other people fishing when I could see the water plus 2 snowmobiles driving down the west side below Mayfield. Hope this helps.....

Someone can verify this but the young man  who assisted me at the Field n Stream said they recently lowered the water level for the lake. Not sure if that will have a major impact on overall conditions. I haven't fished the lake at all this year so take it consideration. Perhaps others who do fish  the lake want to chime and can elaborate conditions.

A lot of cracks and pressure ridges already forming. Some w water pushing out onto the ice. Hasn’t effected the thickness of ice. Northampton is the one area I found to be thickest.

You can get on the lake at the Northampton campground, or sport island pub.

I fished the Lanzi's side of the lake and there was between 6 and 8 inches of decent ice. Snowmobile and four wheeler tracks around. Not scary where I was.

The offices of the Hudson River Black River Regulating Board on Bunker Hill Road is usually a good spot for lake access. The bay out in front of there is a good place for walleye and pike, especially at either end of the island, Deer Island, straight out in the bay.

One word of caution: A few days ago Fulton County and Saratoga County put out warnings that the lake is unsafe right now due to the water level being lowered.

That ice at BR was junk a week ago for a long ways.  Spud went thru every hit.  2” of white ice with a inch of black under it.

Thanks for info.
Good luck if you get out again next week.

Is there a baitshop nearby or should I bring bait with me?

Thanks

Went the safe route n went to the southern end. We avoided the skunk but GD it was busy w sleds, wheelers n side by sides. Two pike. Bigger one on the jaw jacker was fun on 6lb line. Luckily it was hooked right in the corner of the mouth.
