Did you happen to measure how much ice we have?  I'll be fishing the south end of the lake and debating whether or not to bring the wheeler or just trek out by foot.

Good luck to everyone in the tourney!

I haven’t been down further than sand island, I had a foot where I am. I would say there’s plenty for a wheeler

The weekends are definitely numbered looking at that long-range forecast.

Also, did anyone see this? Looks like someone made a forum for the lake:

I was out from Sport Island Pub yesterday the 5th and conditions were good early and got a little slushy later. As far as fishing unfortunately mostly just chasing wind flags. As I said earlier, was able to walk from Sport Island Pub to opposite shore but it was a little tiring. Solid 3 to 4 black ice with 5 to 6 white ice on top. Do not think I would take a vehicle as to the composition of the ice.
Being this close to end of Walleye season I could see waiting till next year to get after them again. At least got the chance to use tryout some new tip ups and test my new 7 inch Mora with ne 18v Craftsman drill attachment. Very pleased with the operation of tip ups and drill. Thanks till later

Didnt a atv go thru right next to you by beacon earlier. Just talked to a person from the group. Said they went in the pressure crack.
Car went thru ice by broadalbin as well.

Anyone that is on the ice with a car/truck this year needs to be put in a padded cell.

Delta12, you had a nice day to be out but it was a little windy...h2l

I was there as well, saw you walking in. I observed similar ice conditions which surprised me with the first drilling, went through quick. Most concerning was the variability of the ice from hole to hole. Plus there was a slight current holding the lines out to the south. The March sun angle is really chewing things up, that part of the lake is always the first to go. I don't think I'll be going out from SIP any more this year, especially with the warm forecast. Be careful.

Anyone out there today?

I see a couple of sleds parked in front of SIP, but nobody on the ice.

Looks like it's thinning pretty quick from that webcam view. And yeah, anyone out there with their car is nuts.

The sun is definitely stronger now. That, plus the river flowing pretty good underneath means erosion is going to take place pretty quick.

I bet we'll see ice out before April if things keep up the way they are now.

How did everyone do in the 3 day tournament?  Real slow for us, especially Sunday.  Think we ended up only having 2 flags all day.

Anyone get in the money?
