unless the snowmachines were out heavy last night the wheeler is ganna be alot of work.  if the trails got packed last night they might have frozen up with these nasty temps.  i was at lanzis last night and larry said they were swamped last friday with sleds so my hopes are up.

We're still heading up for the Fishhouse Tournament. 4 guys, 2 quads and a lot of gear. Hope the snow/slush aren't going to eliminate us from using the quads. Any reports from the Fishouse area would be appreciated. If you could would you post how you made it around with the quads.Thurs. I went to lake Lauterdale with the quad.It was the worst day I have ever seen on the ice.15IN snow then 8in water on top of ice .It sucked!and so did the fishing. Thanks

Just talked to a guy that came off the lake...it is not easy going...12/14" of snow plus 4/5" of slush...trails that were open the last few days are setting up with the cold weather, but off the trails with quads is rough going...hunts2long

there is no getting around on the wheelers.  there is no base to the trails if you can even find them.  it would be easier to walk.

Absolutely horrible ice/slush surface on Saturday at Fishhouse Corners, no going for quads.Extremely difficult to walk and pull sleds loaded with all the gear that we wish would've been on the quads... and no flags. Still, we'll be back.

was out on sun. tried pulling the shanty out. didn't go to well. needed 2 sleds to pull not just one. shanty will be dry docked this yr and will use protable. guys using wheelers stay on the good trails. get off and you may have some hard times. if you got a sled you'll be better off. luck to all.

I had no problems... no wheels, tracks!

The only problem I had late Sat. was moisture getting into the carb and choking me out. The tracks on my ATV work so well that I went where I probably shouldn't have (slush, deep snow) which apparently created the moisture problem. I was the only ATV out any distance. Saw one near the shore. The moisture problem left me walking to get assistance. Boy! It is a LOOOOOOOONG walk from the islands to shore and back!!! I guess I'm headed to the dealer tomorrow to get a snorkel installed to solve that problem. Then, I should be unstoppable!

Tough going with wheelers. Caught 4 pike,2 walleyes, and 1 bass off of North Hampton campsite on Sunday. The Chartruse and Orange colored Pike Master master harness with large shiners was the ticket.  Dave from Dave's Bait and Tackle tells it like it is. I didn't catch anything on any of my other tip ups without the Pike master harness. That color just works the best on the Sac !  Use your sleds or you could be pushing your wheelers down the ice if you get off of the trails. !!
