Princecraft

The actual weight is 22 Lbs with a 6 inch bit. The strikemaster electric with a six inch is advertised at 27 Lbs and Jiffy's model is advertised at 25 Lbs but it has no batteries on board you have to have a battery to run it. As for the 8 inch I cant give out exact details as it is still in the design process. Our drive will adapt to Nils master power auger bits. The hand auger from nils we have to modify the auger bit to get it to adapt. As for the 25.00 adaptor it comes with every new unit. you dont buy it seperate. When the unit is shipped it is all included. When you receive it you take it out of the box install the adaptor with the supplied bolt and put your auger bit on and your ready to drill.

I guess they would work great if you don't need a hole bigger than 6" .  Sounds like a pan fishermans dream.  I just seem to catch bigger fish that a 6" hole will except.  8" or 10"  would be nice on a unit like this but I think they would need to make it twice as big and probably twice as heavy and twice as much money too.

Well I took the plunge myself and bought my icegator this AM.  Never had a power auger, so wasn't stuck with any brand or type.  Just hope she works as promised...

Any idea of when the 8 inch adapter will be done? Will this unit take any hand powered auger end?

According to the manufacture  it took several years to get this 6" out  but it is a sweet unit I think it is going to be great for my needs and use   not too heavy  no gas to worry abouteasy battery change    muchheavyer duty than the drill adapters (got one)  I do have one suggestion for the manufaturers on the buttons    of course was my past job   lol     quiet tooo!   will be great inside a shack

It will be out this winter. It just needs a little more testing. Its kinda hard to freeze enough 5 gallon buckets to test it propperly.                                     Ron

What is the total length if you use a strikemaster lazer hand auger on it?  It would be nice to have a power auger that would fit the whole way into the jet sled.  Also, what type of batteries does it use?   Are they Nicads, NiMh, Li-po, Li-ion?  For the the guy who will drill 10-15 or so holes in an outing and then stick it on a charger when he gets home, will the battery develop a "memory" from only being discharged 20% over and over?  How much are replacement batteries?  I'm asking because I'm very interested in buying one, not because I'm trying to be picky.  ;) Thanks for any info!!

I'm almost certain they are lead acid batteries. The same ones you would use for a marcum or vex flasher.

Mine is 46 inchs total length. The only difference in the batteries is the amp rating vex battery is 7 amp hour gators battery is 9. The cost is under 20.00 each. I dont remember the exact cost.
