If its an off set handle you got a oldie but a goodie..technique to drill a hole is a little different but much more effective

None of my offsets have a top knob.that knob is for putting downward pressure on a regular handle auger.which no pressure is applied on a offset and both hands turn.you already know that i bet but..

Not certain you can retro fit that style ..and I think it would be super awkward to attempt to drill with it ..but you could buy new or used one ...or I bet you could trade yours for a 'straight' handle locally pretty quick..those handles are hard to find and can be priceless to some folks ..you cant buy that handle.. in the states at least.

If it is an offset handle ( POSTING A PICTURE WOULD CONFIRM IT FOR ME !!!!)  and you are able to mount that knob ..you would be defeating the whole purpose of the offset handle ..and I believe physics of drill would be severely hamper drilling . you will be putting an outside force from the side instead of on top/down onto the auger .

So take off the offset handle then

Ok first its not an offset handle ...so ignore my previous offset posts.. I am not familiar with that handle grip that is atop the handle as most have a knob ..maybe it was added by someone ..the auger being red tends to make me think its an Eskimo brand

Is the top part of the auger threaded ?..Where did you get the Knob ? and is that threaded ?  Close up pictures of both would help .

That doesn't take a top knob on it.

I asked you to send close up pictures of the Knob you have (top and bottom) as well as the top of the auger handle .in order to accomplish any modification need more info ...but you did not . So buying a new handle is your only route at this time. $40 bucks from StrikeMaster and your in . Good Luck.

No matter what handle, you will not have much luck if you set the blades on the concrete floor with no cover, as shown in the picture you posted. Offset handle augers should not require only the pressure you put by resting your hands on the 2 handles. If that does not work, you need to sharpen or replace the blades.
Most people find the offset handle easier to turn, since both arms are used. The old "brace and bit" style handle, which uses a top cap for one hand to steady the top of the handle, while the other does all the turning, is getting less popular.
