Oh man now i see a what drill is best topic coming up..he said he already has a clam electric auger and not sure why hes messing around trying to modify a perfectly good auger.lol im all for helping but the kid must be made of rubber.all good advice and suggestions bounce right off him.just my worthless opinion.

Its a spare and i had a far more difficult time using this kind then the other one (when i used my friends hand auger with the top handle)
Want to get rid of offset handle

Well, he is only 17 and money could be an issue in buying a decent drill.

Looking at your pictures (not great quality or detail)my best guess is that they were once together ..may be some epoxy ..liquid or putty for plastic ...or you could reach out to the auger manufacturer via Email and ask them if a replacement is available..most companies have stock/replacement parts that are not on the website .

Are the blades in poor condition on the auger? Even when they feel sharp they can be dull.

They are actually different entirely
I was just hoping I could get ideas on how to attach that top to the auger so it would be easier to use

I actually tried those
They didn’t work
And to answer your question about the drill
Chances are my electric wouldn’t work because the battery would have froze so the same would happen to a regular drill
