Definitely would have to be crappie. Nothing beats pulling them up when they are suspended over deep water.

Jumbo Perch is my favorite! Probably the easiest to target and catch also! I also love fishing walleyes.
I have one lake that I love to chase smallies, and I really want to try and catch more crappies this year! I've never targeted them before, but want to try this year!

for fun I'll target sunfish, perch and crappie.
For food...the same thing.

The fun thing is that I end up catching plenty of other fish as well!

I cannot speak for the entire Polar Bird team, but personally i love Lake Trout, Smelt, and Walleye in no particular order. But fishing is the name of the game and i love variety and learning new species.

Nothing like a day of chasing jumbo perch, and those shrimp fed slabs make for some great table fare. Second would be crappies, and they are by far the species I am targeting most often.

Finding it hard to believe none of you guys have ever caught a lake trout. They are hands down the hardest fighting most aggressive fish under the ice. For all you "panfisherman" that have never caught a fish over 2 pounds you need to make a trip up north and catch some real fish😜 Just heckling you guys a little I used to love panfish specifically perch and crappie.

Perch, crappie, bass, pickerel, gills, trout. I only put trout in there cuz a buddy loves to fish for them. I'm not actually a big fan cuz they are stockers and can be pretty mushy. We also got northerns and stripe bass and walleyes near by but I haven't targeted them so I don't know where they would be on the list but without a doubt, perch and crappie would be at the top cuz that's what I go after most of the time.

Fish for 9" + for pictures. Fish for 7" to 8" for the grease. Love those ice gills with fried potatoes and onions! This season I am planning to get a little out of my comfort zone. Been doing lots of research on how crappie move into different zones during ice season. I can catch gills fairly regular so if I can't find the crappie I can fall back on my known patterns. Just looking to expand my fishing experience!

When I first started ice fishing it was northern pike, then I progressed to walleye, now it is walleye early season and crappie most of the rest of the ice season.

Large gills,large crappie,I'll also set a couple of tip ups for pike off the weed beds. Pike are really good eating once you learn how to fillet the y bones out.
