What one are you? Pick the title that closest relates to you.

Retired: Either too old to get out on the ice or may have health issues

Just not that into it.  You go out couple times a season. Usually someone asked you to go. If it isn't nice out, you don't go.
4 (2%)
Weekend warrior. You fish strictly on the weekends. Usually it's just one day, sometimes both days if given the chance.
60 (29.9%)
A regular. Will fish most weekends of the season, usually fish both days and will go out during the week if possible. Some years you fish more than others but you're fairly consistant.
92 (45.8%)
The die hard. Will fish whenever possible. Will make up lies just to be able to go fishing. Will fish in any conditions. Spends more time on the ice than at home in the winter.

im well south of the standard ice belt, i grew up getting a couple days/hours to a week on ice...weather has changed for the colder(screw off global warming) and last couple years ive gotten several weeks, even several months last year...

ask a buck deer what he would do if he could extend(pardon the pun) his rut season from a couple weeks to a couple months.

I used to call work and tell them i aint coming in, if they wanted a reason, i would ask what would they believe. My grandma has been dead so may times, God rest her soul.
Luckily, now im in control of the job and the work force, so when i dont show up, nobody is suprised.

A #4 Retired but fish a least once a week during the week and not much on the weekends, still see lots of fisherpeople during the week mon-fri.

  Was going to add 6. The extremist.  Very few fit in this category. You are the 1st one on ice and the last one off the ice no matter the thickness. You have 3 or more of everything. You spend just about everyday on the ice. You live for icefishing day and night. You are obsessed and slightly crazy.

I am  4 borderline 5. My new job is a standard mon-fri, but with my old job I always had days off during the week and was always on the ice.

I'd have to call myself a weekend warrior.  With three young boys playing hockey and a full time job it's tough to find more than a couple hours to myself on the weekends.  Fortunately I get every other Monday off and the kids are in school!

Used to be a 4/5, all year. Open water hard water, whatever. Then four years ago my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Not a nice one and odds are, well, crappy. Things change.

My retirement home is on a chain pf 19 lakes and a target rich environment any direction for at least 90 minute drive or more. You can fish a different lake every five miles or less..... I'll get back to it.

I'm a 4.  But I usually don't go on weekends.  Being the field supervisor, I am able to take time off during the week, so I try to avoid doing anything outdoors on the weekend.  I will go on weekends now and then, but not often.

Right now I am a weekend warrior but not by choice - which, as a ice greenhorn, does make learning difficult.  I hope the last half of the season I can get out a lot more. In open water I easily fish 4 days a week - I'd like to get up to that on ice too!
