Good Morning Everyone,
Windy and 42* this am, that will be the high for today, temps slowly dropping to upper 30's for the rest of the day.

Capt.J...know what you mean with the band aid fixes, got to give them what they want sometimes. Maybe that job will pan out for you though. Do you still deer hunt?
I-45...best wishes sent for Wednesdays MRI...   Was reading all the replies on the medical marijuana thread, know a few people using it...similar results, working for some, not for others.
Steve...getting close now, how did everything go with the radon issue?  We finished up the small stone wall on Friday at the mansion....one other very small retaining wall needs to be built tomorrow, and that may be it for this season!
Marv...congrats to your brother on the doe, nice!!   Best of luck this week, have you seen something in particular on the cameras you're after?
H2...sounds like your wife had a very nice surprise B'Day party, awesome! Great news on her being released tomorrow..best wishes and a safe trip!
Jeff...I looked at all our numbers in the Mega Millions, we all took photos of the tickets on Friday. Ended up having one ticket with the first 3 numbers in a row....think it's worth $10....or $.50 apiece.  ;D.   Good news is, nobody else hit it...we'll give it another shot. Good luck if you're hunting today!
Wally..hope you and Mr.WW are holding up to the pace! Hope it's been fun, have a safe trip back home.

Got my lawn and leaf clean up done yesterday for the most part (round one), had my little helper grandson giving me a hand. We planted 30 cloves of garlic in a raised bed and used some of the mulched leaves and grass trimmings to cover. First time for growing it, so looking forward to see how that does.
Traditional pumpkin patch trip around noon today, not the best weather, but could be worse....it should be fun anyway.
  Cawfee's on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing/hunting!

                Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 35* and clear here on my hill not a breezy as it has been. ::)
Eddie.......Have a good time at the pumpkin patch. I'm sure you'll like the garlic next year when it's ready.
Marv........Congratula tions to your brother on the Doe, it will be eating.
I-45.........I hope the MRI will disclose more for the Dr.'s to help you. :flex:
H2L.........I bet your wife will be happy to get home tomorrow, have a safe trip!
Wally.......How did the grand kids do, how are you holding up. ???
Yesterday I worked around the house, I got another bonus. A friend called and he got a deer and he doesn't use the neck so now I have
another one! I still have more to do, the part time neighbors that live close to Steve sold their house here and gave me some firewood so
I have to go get it. And there are leaves to do, It's been strange fall lots of leaves turned, very dull in color but there are trees still with green leaves. ???
It's going to be a long clean up season! :o
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or enjoying outdoor sports or watching on TV.

Good Morning ER's  Not a lot going on, on this end.  Mrs going in think Wednesday to have stitches removed.  See it was snowing in Madison at the Badgers game.  Work place crew continues to get split up.  Store manager at Longmont was let go, so now one of our guys got moved there.  One of the cashiers that finally got the hang of it will put in his last day today, with a new girl to start think Monday.  Think I have about had it with standing at the registers all day myself.  Jury duty coming up Tuesday for me.  ::) not looking forward to that.  Think its to be back up to low 70's today, could be my last chance to take the boat out.  Still some leaves to round up, that is after fishing of course  ;D

Marv you should have lots of company out chasing the whitetails week of Thanksgiving.  See Jeff posted while I was typing, same with the leaves here too.

So for now have a great day all.

Good morning everyone. I realized that I never responded to a comment a few weeks ago when I said I worked for the Federal Gov't. I went on a trip to Madison, WI with a friend to the World Dairy Expo and I was asked if I worked for the USDA. Nope, I actually work for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an equipment "System Specialist". Basically, I am an electrician and electronics tech maintaining several pieces of equipment that aircraft use while in flight and landing. I am also responsible for buildings and grounds maintenance at all of our facilities. I grew up on a certified organic dairy farm (the first in the country) in my (still) home town of Nichols, NY on the PA border in the Southern Tier. I left the farm and went to work construction and travelled around the northeast installing runway and taxiway lights, along with other systems, at airports. That ended up transitioning into a career with the FAA based out of the Elmira airport 40 minutes from home. I have been there for about 3 and a half years. I still have a big interest in farming, but it's a hard way to make a living. My brothers run the place now. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone

Lots of frost here this morning. It sounds like most of the week will be in the 50's for highs.

It seems I caught a bug as the last couple of days I can't get enough sleep. I am hoping to get back to the shack by mid week, guess it just depends.

Hope you all have an excellent Sunday  Stay safe.

Good morning ER's well the brewers ride has ended sad to say. We did have snow here a few times now but not much. The wind was another thing though shouldn't have to rake to much as trees were getting snapped off. Thought for the past series How can you have men on first and second with no outs 3 or 4 times and not bunt even once STUPID DUMB etc. etc.

Good day everyone ,sunny with partly cloudy skies todays high forecasted to be 44degrees (F) will feel colder with wind chill . My computer is by a window watching tree tops sways in stronger wind gusts anyone hunting from a tree stand will get a ride today. I live by local fire house they just got called into service hope it is for downed wires or to assist at an auto accident bad day for any type of fire with these winds.
Icefisher-45 may the head mri give answers to your head aches. The Canadian government just legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana for recreational usage hopefully they will fund some research to see if there are any medical benefits they can be used to treat /help certain medical problems. I would think anyone who smokes the marijuana still runs risks of lung problems over time, I see TV adds now warning about problems from E-cigarettes and vaporing .
Deerefishyfishy thank you for reply to my question. I had a great uncle on my father's side of the family who worked with early radar systems (late 1940's into early 1970's) . Growing up had friends who owned a dairy farm was fun to visit and see the cows also changes over the years from milk cans that where placed into cold water tank in milk storage house to refrigerated bulk storage tank. All the best to your brothers in keeping the family farm up and running.
Old Goat sorry the Brewers are out of playoffs. I don't watch or follow baseball that closely anymore but think bunting and use of the bunt are disappearing from the game. Hope the winds and snapped trees have not caused to many power outages.
Capt.Jim may all the medical problems affecting your family get under control. It is not an easy task cleaning out years of accumulated items from a house just take things one step at a time and job will get done.
Eddie have fun at the pumpkin patch, enjoy the time spent with your little helper. Think you will be using your mason tricks to help with curing of mortar on any remaining outside work.
Ice Wanderer enjoy the extra venison. Think your in good shape with the fire wood supply May you develop a similar relationship with the new property owners .
IFF hope the surgery has improved your wife's vision. May things improve at the work place . Enjoy any last of the year boat trips.
Wallyworld how did the grandchildren's games go yesterday. I forgot you also have a grand puppy/dog . Safe trip home tomorrow night .
Whopper Stopper may you shake the bug quickly.
Tom Turkey hope you and the missus are having a good day.

May everyone have a good afternoon and evening. Best to all fishing or hunting today.

Good Evening, Everybody - Very Breezy Today, highs only to the upper 40's, nippy to say the least, lots of sun

Mr. Clean - Both of my parents have been gone 11 years now, my sister puts a 'hoarder' to shame, long story & it gets my blood pressure up when I talk about it

Mason - I havn't hunted in some time, loved bow & arrow, lost a lot of strength after both shoulders where operated on for arthritis/rotator cup, have a crossbow, NJ within the past few years now allows them for use, just don't have time, working more now in semi-retirement than when regularly employed back in the day

Going to an early nite today, Ext. Paint job tomorrow on the sunny side of the house, at least it will be warm for a while

                    Good morning ER's<
It's 29* and clear here on my hill, i think the wind has finally stopped. When I posted yesterday I said it wasn't as breezy but it soon
                    picked up again! ::)
Marv.......I hope you can shake the bug so you can get back out in the stand. :flex:
Bud........I couldn't stand at the register to check out customers either. What's your next move? ???
Eddie......How was the pumpkin patch outing? :woot:
Wally.......I hope you had a safe trip home!
DFF.........That's quite a work history, sounds if you made the right choice to leave the farm, it's a tough business.
Capt. Jim....I have issues with my shoulders as well, I had to learn to adapt to what I can do and can't do.
I got most of what my wife wanted me to do, but I quit early, I took my wife to a sports bar so she could watch the NE Patriots play.

Good Morning IW,OG! Good Morning Everyone

36 heading to 50 later today.

It seems the bug was a fast mover and I feel pretty good this morning. I am trying to decide if I want to head up to the shack mid week or just hold off and head up next Saturday through Halloween. They are calling for rain Wednesday into the weekend so I will wait and see if the forecast changes. Yesterday I got the truck re-packed. Today I am going to round up a few meals for when I do head up.

mr.cleam you asked "Do you carry any type of locator beacon device while hunting given the hit and miss phone service?" The short answer is no. I usually have good luck with texts getting through. Incoming calls go to voice mail and outgoing can be a challenge. I can usually read the forums from my stand, but like outgoing calls, posting can be frustrating to say the least.

Today I am going to clean the stovepipe in the downstairs. I should have had it done by now but it's one of those jobs that got put off ???

Hope you all have an excellent Monday :thumbsup:Stay safe!

We took 3 of 4 points last night. I bowled pretty good.
Yesterday I got the boat into the garage. Should start hunting later in the week. Wind yesterday brought down a lot of leaves.

27* again this morning. I still need to clean up the black tomato plants from the first frost.  The pontoon still needs to get pulled out of the water. I have to have a calm day to do it as any amount of wind makes it hard to get it on the trailer straight.

WS Good to here the bug was short lived. With the way the weather has been it is hard to pick some decent weather to hunt or even to do some work out side. I had an old friend with dementia that would wander off. They put a Beacon on him that the Sherriff's department could activate to find him. One time he was over two miles from home.

H2L Hopefully you can get in and out with no delay. I am sure your wife will be happy to be home.

I need to call the gal I normally deal with where I get my C-pap suplies as I have not gotten them after over 10 days. They opened a new office and I dealt with a new gal in the office. there is a new guy wokring for them thqat must hve ben a used car salesman. He  almost charges you the minute you open the front door. He is also pretty pushy when dealing with me.

Good Evening, Mr. & Mrs. Ice Shanty Members

Mostly sunny today, no real breezy to speak of, almost hit 60*

I.W. - The strength that was lost does present a problem at work sometimes, but, yes we all learn to adapt and do it a little bit different to get the same results

O.G. - Even thou she is just a phone call away, when she decides to answer or return it, it is still nice to see her, puts the mind at ease that she is o.k.

H2L - Feels good bowling a  good game, huh?

T.T. - Maybe it is time to give him a 'straight arm' when you go for supplies next time

W.S. - Good Luck next trip to the cabin

Mrs. W.W. - Safe trip home for you & the 'boss'

Good Morning Everyone,
36* with cloudy skies this am, high of 51 today with some rain coming in this afternoon.
Problems posting again yesterday morning, things seem ok so far this am....

Capt.J...hope the painting job is going well for you Sir!
Tom...not a big fan of those car salesmen types either, hope the phone call worked.
H2...hope you had safe travels and a fast getaway from the hospital. Congrats on the bowling and your wife's return home, best wishes to her!
I-45...hope those headaches are a thing of the past soon, best wishes with the next appointment.
Marv...best of luck to you this trip, hoping the big one comes into your perimeter.
OG...glad you had a nice visit with your daughter over the weekend, sounds like she's doing great in college, awesome! Always thought the bunt was a great way to move runners...especially with no outs and two men on. Better
luck next season with your Brewers.
Jeff...the pumpkin patch was a good time, a bit windy and cold but the kids had fun! Good luck today if you're heading out to the woods!
Wally...hope you had safe travels back home, bet you and Mr.WW need a good rest! Hope you had a great time!

Early start again this am, concrete coming at 6. Steve, we're using hot water and a mild dose of an accelerator in the concrete now with the temps. to help speed up the setting time. With rain coming in this afternoon, hope it's enough, lol.
We ended up winning $22 back on our Mega Millions tickets, or should I say we ended up losing $178 on our $200 worth of tickets.  ;D. We put in another $10 apiece and the winnings to take another shot in this evenings drawing...it might hit $2 Billion today.
  Cawfee's on gang...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing/hunting....and playing the Mega Millions!   :flex:

Eddie good luck on the big drawing tonight  Hope you are able to beat the rain Sir!

WW how was your own bed ??? I trust you had a safe ride home.

This morning I have a Dr appointment. If I want to get more BP medicine I have check in. My regular Dr. is gone for two weeks so I am going to see some other healer. I am hoping he can just use my numbers from the other day when I had blood work taken for the rheumatologist.

Good Morning. The trip wasn't too bad. Made very good time coming home. Left the hospital at 4pm and pulled into the driveway at 7:30. They delivered new meds at about 8 and hooked it up to the PICC line. She has to take it 3 times a day but only for 3 more days. They want to keep the PICC line in for awhile (waiting for one more test results) so NO bowling. She is just glad to be home. It will take a day or so to get back into the swing of things then I will get into the woods. Scout is very happy to have her home. Thanks for all the well wishes....h2l

Eddie I was able to talk to the gal I have dealt with for years yesterday. She is going to get things straightened out for me. We talked about other problems in the new office set especially about the lack of privacy that violates HIPPA. Sadly Friday is her last day with them. I do not remember how many times I thanked her for being so great to deal with. I have looked for another place to get my supplies close to home but there is none. I am going to call their home office and voice my concerns with this office.

It was hardly getting light at 7:15 this morning with the cloud cover. The distance from both sides of the time zone makes a lot of difference in the sun coming up.

IW All I can say is I hope you can sleep with all of the leads stuck all over your body. I have been through sleep study's 4 times. I am a light sleeper so sleeping with them was a major problem. I had to come home and go back to bed so I could get some rest a couple of times. If I ever have to have another one I will not go back to the one I dealt with for the last two. They was incredibly difficult  to deal with. I am going to have to switch to a different hospital group to do it. My DIL is in charge of coding in that hospital I will go to, so maybe she can get me in with no big problems.

H2L I am sure that Scout was excited to see your wife get back home.

I need to get going back at blowing leaves. All I have to do in the front yard is the ditch. Those are getting dumped in the woods across the road as they are full of oak leaves that came from that woods.

Good Morning Everyone,
  Happy Hump Day!
41* with some NW winds this am, high of 43 today. Congrats to all the Boston fans for taking Game 1 last night in the World Series!

Tom...glad you got things straightened out, hopefully that woman's replacement will keep things moving in the right direction.
Wally...we got pretty lucky again on the concrete, a few drops of rain mid morning and that was about it until late afternoon. Welcome back...
H2...great news on your wife!!     Good luck with the deer hunting.
Marv...hope everything worked out well with the Dr. yesterday. Was hoping to join you and the others in the retirement club this morning after hitting the Mega Millions...glad I didn't throw my tools out yesterday, will need them again this morning!   ;D
Bud...glad to read you got compensated for the lost time on jury duty, that's a good deal anyway!
Jeff...hope you had a great time with your grandson yesterday! Good luck with the deer hunting if that's on the agenda today.

Another 5am start this morning, concrete at 6. We had a good discussion yesterday on what we would all do if we hit the jackpot. Some of the comments I can't discuss here, but there were some pretty good ones in the mix.
Question of the day...what would you do if you won a Billion dollars?   Cawfee's on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing/hunting!

Good Morning Everyone, Cloudy out this morning. Good ball game last night. Nice to see players stay standing for the National Anthem. On our way to get my head MRI and then off to see my back doctor after that. I hope everyone has a great and safe day either on the water or in the woods.
Take a kid ice fishing
