Crappie Rod suggestions for use with jigging spoons?
« on: Dec 30, 2014, 07:54 PM »
Looking for some input on different ultralight crappie rods on the market, I would primarily be using this for my jigging spoons of 1/16-1/8 oz. sizes. Thanks!

i like the ugly stick for my spoons and jigging raps. i use braid with a small barrel swivel with 6lbs floro and quick snaps for changing lures.
it's all fun and games till somebody looses a walleye!!

I buy the lightweight combos with no spring bobber.i use lots of spoons..the lighter the rod/lne..makes it easier to detect the light biters,,no need to spend tons of loot..i see people buy 70$ jig rods and im just amazed.technique catches fish...not $$$$$.
i just know they will bite if i stay another hour.

I really enjoy my Frabill Quick Tips for smaller spoons and lures up to 1/8. They do a great job showing an up bite and have a lot of back bone for hook sets.

My favorite crappie rod is a 32" perch sweetheart but I normally jig #3 rapalas, however I have some power noodle I cut the tips off and I like them now for Jigging lighter spoons and my favorite spoon rod now is the quiverstick.
