Here. Fired up my auger yesterday, I love the smell of 2 cycle oil and residual Stabil burning, should be a cologne scent.

I am back for another season, not sure where I am going to call my home base yet. I graduate in December with an Packaging Degree and a minor in Quality Management from Stout, I am looking for jobs in the Tomah area. Ready and waiting (since may when I got my vex). Played cards with the boys this weekend. already started to plan annual ice fishing trip up north. reels have new line and tackle boxes have a few more jigs. Just waiting for the ICE.

Augers ready, new permanant shanty, eye rigs are set to go, just need to rig up some new jigs and get some hard ice. Vacation starts 12-15 until the new yr so mother nature bring it already.

I'm all ready. Once the muzzleloader hunt is done this Weds, I'm ready for ice. Vex is charged, rods ready, auger is just itching to scratch some new ice.

Hey all.... New to the site and I am impressed! What a great place! Got the big shack in the driveway for some upgrades, Kid is hounding me non stop to get the rods rigged and ready. I changed a deer into venison last Wen. I'm going to sit Sunday, and Monday to see if I can add another deer to the freezer. I was going to head out fishing Mon., but it is supposed to be real windy. When I feel comfortable pulling the shack out I won't care. Tues. is supposed to be calmer so maybe I'll sit on a bucket for awhile..., like maybe until Sunday for church. Then again if it's windy I'll go back and sit in the deer blind.

When your retired you have such hard decisions to make.

I was really contemplating loading my up the truck and heading north in search for ice today. They way the wind has been the bay just is not freezing and if it does its going to be ROUGH.

Checking In from Menomonie! Put about a dozen pike and one walleye on the top side of the ice yesterday. Almost all of them went back except for dinner. Have a safe season everyone!

Just waiting to get out. I spent most of last week in the hospital I'm realy itching to get out. Tomorow I find out what the doc has to say, I'm hope on being no the ice Wen or Thur.

Hey all! I just joined up today. Been reading the forum off and on for a while. I'm from the Waukesha area and mainly fish the Oconomowoc area. This year will be my second year out ice fishing and I'm already going crazy waiting for good ice, mainly cause I put the boat away too early. This year I plan to get myself an auger and a flasher (bought a Humminbird Ice-45 towards the end of the season last year but returned it) as well as bolster my arsenal of tip ups and jig poles. Looking forward to doing a lot more fishing on hard water this year.

Hell yea! we're makin' ice! Deer hunting sucked this year thanks to an a-- named Garth, but I am buying 30 acres, so I should'nt have to put up with him anymore! Looking forward to drilling some holes, setting some tip ups, and downing a few Blue Bullets! Good Luck to everyone, and be safe.

went fishing, and caught fish that looked like perch, but had teeth of a baraccuda, and they were caught using bacon from the mess hall

Yeah, when I was in the Navy on square riggers fighting the Barbary Pirates. I caught some strange fish in the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden. It was the Brits show then. Been going on since Christ I think.
