When do you expect to be on the ice?

With ice fishing a few months away I am getting more excited than any other season!   ;D When does everyone expect to be on the ice this year? Hopefully if we get solid ice earlier/same as past few seasons I will be on the ice shortly after Thanksgiving!  :icefish:

boy am i ever ready I've been playing with my hard water stuff for awhile now. i think its more addictive than smoking. first week of december would have me pumped  :tipup:

Last year I was on the ice just before deer season and I hope to be on again.   But, I am a little crazy about what I consider a fishable thickness.

If all goes well I will fill my deer tags before opening weekend is done and then I want to be on the ice Monday morning. Nothing worse than seeing non hunters on the ice and I am still stomping through the brush looking for venison.  :tipup:

Did you have any luck, and if you did, were did you fish?  I moved to Chetek a month ago and I have no clue where to start fishing.

On a good year, mid November on the warm water species ponds. Mid December for the non Lake Trout managed lakes. We can't fish the State managed Trout lakes till after January 1st anyways !  :'(

I have fished Pokegama lake, try by the island for pike and some pannies. Also, try the mouth of the shallow bay just southwest of the island.

Also, I have fished Prairie Lake also, I have had the best luck by Lakewood park.
