Minimally hit the spot on your gps and or drop a weight with a float. You can then dive it or grappling hook it this spring. Better yet, maybe a trough cut in the ice now makes more sense. Know any winter divers? Fireman?

10' piece of 1/2 " pvc. Pull some string thru it -- dog catcher's noose. slide the noose around the tines and cinch er up. May want to use more pvc if needed. I've recovered stuff in 25' of water doing it.

If you know anyone with a fishing magnet that may work. I got an ice screw back this year with mine. May need to get your arm wet with a spear though.

Got it back! Used a tree trimming pole saw without the saw on it. Was able to get it between two tubes and twist it sideways.
Thank you for all the ideas. I am going to add magnets to my equipment list!

Glad you got it back!
I leave my magnet in the truck stored in a little soft-sided cooler. Had to walk back to the truck to get it, but I didn't want to drag it along every trip.
