Since the weather is cooperating, looks like BBQ'd chicky with Sweet Baby Rays Hickory, cole slaw, and some tater salad. Even picked up a fresh bunch of radishes and a jug of tea. Summer must be here. 😎

They don't have much use up here. We aren't allowed the use of any baitfish here unless ice fishing in certain zones, and they must be dead too. We don't get flatheads either. Used to get big channel cats on dead suckers before the 2017 ban.

If fallfish are hardy enough, I'm sure the would make killer musky bait where allowed. But once your are catching bait on rod and reel, I'd probably go with big suckers, those things don't die, and I've caught some big pike on cut halves of suckers in the 3-5 lbs range. before the ban.

Those fallfish are a blast on a little glass noodle rod.

The first time I went fishing out east in NH I got into a mess of them on a little creek while chasing sunfish that we don't have around here

Cooked up some fresh frozen snapper today, first time trying. Half was seasoned with some "blackened" spice I just bought, the other half was my "mediterranean mix" (Himalayan salt, black pepper, lemon herb seasoning, and Italian seasoning). Pan fried both in butter with some lemon juice added during cooking.

Both pretty good, but I preferred my mediterranean mix.

Hoo boy...those piggers were like eating a soft, juicy marshmallow! Could just barely finish the one, and another waiting in the wings. Neighbor lady brought me over fresh mater's from the farmers market too. She was just after my body, but I was too busy pokin' my piggers..

Rubbed and just trimmed up...

Into the smoke...
