how would you get more visibility by painting the shack black?

i know guys who have blue covers on their shanties and love them. personally i think they're junk. i've got a black over my frabill ice ranger which makes it a lot easier to see down the hole if you're in shallow water. blue still lets in a decent amount of light.

all depends what you want to do. fire some heat tempered spray paint on the blue.

Actually this year the inside of the new 2003 fish traps are dark blue almost black. Perfect for camera fishing and sight fishing. Frabill is a nice hut -- I would have bought the 2 man ice ranger model but it weighs 90 pounds compared to 60 pounds. Black paint would work on the old fishtraps -- but make sure you buy paint that will not flake off when folded -- try black dye -- or call USL products and order a new artic armor cover for $180.00.

I saw that hut on ebay  -- hyjinks -- one man ice ranger
Does not play well with others

Huh?

I've got an Ice Ranger and it weighs about 50 pounds. 1-man.

You like the 90 pounds of weight to pull anyways. Keeps you young.
