otter square poles
« on: Dec 12, 2003, 04:31 PM »
i just purchased an otter lodge at the st paul ice show last weekend.  the new poles are square.  i didn't think of it at the time, but a friend told me after i bought it that if condensation finds its way into the square tubing and freezes, the poles will be really hard to fold down.  does anybody have any experiences with this happening?  i haven't been out yet to try it out.  thanks

You lost me,  I've been useing the otter round pole frame for the last two season with no condesatiuon problems.  I don't see how round or square would make a difference.  If mosture gets in either type rod it's gonna settle to the lowest point first then build its way up and around to freeze  :-\   And if you have some kind of heat in the hut with you, I think your gonna be just fine.

Good luck on the ice, Lonzo
