Have a fl20, then a guy hooked me up with a LX-7, use the 20 as a back up, you'd have to sell me on the 28 DC.  ;D

The crumb snatchers are relly cute Jay. You change flashers like I change socks. Pretty soon you'll be back to a sounder.

What lb test should I use for the walleye on Oneida or do you use braid with a fluorocarbon leader

Quite a few guys using 4 and 6lb. braid with flouro or mono leader.
I use both 4 and 6lb. PowerPro Ice with 3ft. of 6 and 8lb. Trilene XL for a leader.  Works for eyes and jumbos, both.

I've started using suffix 832 green open water line 6# or 4# with Berkeley ice line 6# for my leader on oneida.

for Oneida Lake I use 4# fireline with a 6# trans optic leader small barrel in between the , for big eyes [double digits]and lake trout I jump to 6# with an 8# trans optic leader but I fish that line warm it freezes pretty easy , bud of mine gave me a spool of P-Line that i'm going to try

Ive used a lot of p-line with no complaints... Love the 3# for panfish

Does anyone remember when the lake locked up in 2013?  I seem to remember it was pretty early.

Just checked my diary. I was on 4 inches of ice on Oneida last year on December 27th. So I think it was safe a few days before last year, maybe Christmas? That's about a week or two earlier than usual. Generally Oneida is safe by the first weeks of January.

Well, I did it. Just shelled out over 500$ for a new electric Strikemaster 50 volt, and cant wait for enough ice to test the "power augers too noisy" theory. I have used my tried and true Strikemaster 2 cycle for years, anything over 18 inches or so.... and didn't notice any lack of bites. But due to popular opinion, mostly here, I started getting shunned by even my friends over using it. Cant wait to say "told you so", or on the other hand, " I owe you a beer". Time to put this to rest.

H2o- that is quite a pic...... give a couple young bucks that machine, and give "em a full day or so, and my crestliner could troll my favorite sunken island  till ice locked in again ! I'd go down in Oneida history, and the teens would have enough jingle to buy that new St Croix

It looks like there might be a glimmer of hope next week to start making ice again.  My fingers are crossed!!
