Had a great 3-day trip to Oneida back in February.  Best I've done.  Got out with Filet (I think he left Release at home that day) and Snagger.  Great time on the Oneida Ice.
I think, maybe my last trip on the ice was today, on Black Lake, with mdupper, good time.  It's still a solid 28" :o  Possible to open the Walleye season on ice!  :P  Anyways today's trip is posted over on the Black Lake thread.
Thanks for all the help you guys.  ;D

saw 2 guys on the ice in front of onieda shores this morning :cookoo:. the wife, and I were watching them when all of a sudden they grabbed thier gear, and took off for shore !! thank god they didn't take a swim. they had to get wet getting on, and off the ice. it's not worth your life !!! The ice is moving, and piling a little. water levels are rising. hoping to be fishing open water in 3 days. high winds tomorrow also.   Sully...

Wow, thats crazy.  I know I said I wanted to go out but if I did the south west end would be thew last place I would consider especially considering the east wind today.

Drove Cleveland to Central Square during this afternoon's rain...ice seemed to fade away before my eyes. I know it's been said, but I'll say it once more...no fish is worth your life, give it a couple days and fish the spawn from the rowboat or canoe. Plus, we might have one more decent snow goose weekend ahead. ;D

I will see everybody on mff.

I had great luck with perch last weekend in 6-7 fow, might try the canal in the morning if the weather clears up.

Well, this winter didn't go as expected or planned...only made it to Oneida one time...seemed like every week something different popped up.  All was not lost as I made some major modifications and next winter, The Lord willing, will be a good one.  Congrats to all with their catches.  Thanks to all for their help, informative posts and laughs...just what this dude needs to keep it goin when things aren't goin too well!
Boat comes out next week and hope to get some open water action before heading for bionic ear surgery in late May/early June  To all that are still trying the ice, BE SAFE!!!  Hope to see some on open water!  :icefish:

tried to get on off south shore at spot we fished yesterday. wind was piling up ice and rolling 200 lb boulders. open water there. its over for me.
Yuk.  I guess that ends the season for me.  Today's rain certainly isn't helping.  Was a good season for me.  Time to put my gear away and start tending to the boat.

It's just starting to stack up on the rocks at the beach Parking lot, water level in the canal is up I'd guess 12"-18" from yesterday.  Last year most of the ice got hung up On the shoals quite a way off shore, hoping that's the case this year but with today's wind ......

Snagger,  I`m near DeLand, That is west of Daytona Beach 20 miles..  Been chasing the Fl. Black Bass.  Getting some decent ones but not the picture taking kind. Looks like the ice will be out of the lake by next weekend so will be heading North shortly after that...

I am assuming this afternoon's wind got it up and moving again. ???

The ice pushed up pretty good a little East of Apps. Also saw a picture of the beach that showed some huge rocks pushed up. I think that ice is a little too thick to blow out right now unless it blew 60 maybe.

The water has come up 2' in a week. This chart is scary. We are at summer levels now. Hopefully these freezes at night will slow the runoff down a little.
