So we're only allowed to keep 5 perch on Saturday if we're fishing the tournament?

I realize we can only enter 5 but thought the normal limit would apply for take home fish.

IA ... Brought up the 16" minimum ... That was Changed to the State minimum of 15" ...

You can only have 3 walleye and 5 perch in the weigh in line .... what you do with the other 45 is up to you.

its shifted as much as its gonna south, heading back north soon..

strong winds on outside of squall should be blowing the lake clean.

Just studied those same models, my forecaster confidence is high and in concurrence with yours.

Now the action over the next day and a half, I'm happy to say the forecaster confidence is medium, therefor it's a crap shoot and all about the winds.

Hey Stormy, perhaps you should discuss the " no frozen fish" rule......I'm SURE there are a lot of misconceptions going on out there....The rules format you picked is very similar to those I've observed and obeyed on the tournament circuit. Is this derby really that stringent? I mean we ARE talking large predators and very frigid weather....Keeping them thawed is going to be quite a feat. In my experience it was always extremely difficult enough to keep panfish alive and thawed with "no ice in the bucket" as stated, let alone the challenge of taking care of a large fish such as a Walleye, let alone 3!

I am quite capable of keeping my catch from freezing under normal fishing conditions, however, during contests when running and gunning is often required, not letting those fish get a bit stiff is very difficult at best.

John .. As this is my first running a tournament others suggested this as a way to reduce cheating ... depending on the turn out it could be a big chunk of change ... It was suggested to bring a cooler or keep them in a bucket in your shanty .... If we allow frozen fish ...they could have been caught days before .

I may also modify the perch rule ... you can legally cull perch so no bands maybe required for the perch .

A cooler with some water in it will keep them from freezing solid..... Besides It's pretty easy to tell if a fish is more than 6 hours old IMO.

This is no lie ... I had a guy say to me that him and his buddy's will fish together and one of them will turn in their biggest walleye and split the money ... thus the bands .

got out for a couple hours this morning before work. only 4 gills, and 1 big sunny. going to fish for perch the remainder of the season. the surface is solid !! there's about 4" of snow on it. prefect for the sled. cut about 23" of ice. my new adapter for the auger works great !! Sully...

WHat adapter did you get Sully? I used the Clam that Rob's buddy... Jimmy maybe??? Bought and man it's sweet

We had a tough time with the flat's Sunday too.
